Privacy policy

Draft. This page hasn't been reviewed yet and may change before launch. It has 8 unfinished parts, marked TODO.

We collect as little about you as we can. This page explains what we do collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who is responsible for your data

TODO: your legal name or company name (“Figmatro”, “we”) is the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at figmatro@gmail.com.

Browsing the site

  • No tracking cookies. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, so there’s no cookie banner.
  • Visitor statistics. TODO: once chosen, name the analytics tool, e.g. Plausible. It counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Server logs. Our host, TODO: hosting provider, keeps standard logs, including IP addresses, for a short time to keep the site secure.

Buying from us

When you buy a template, UI kit, Claude skill or bundle, or get a free download, Polar handles the checkout as our reseller. Polar collects your name, email, country, payment details and any VAT number, and is responsible for that data under Polar’s privacy policy.

Polar shares some of it with us: your name, email, country, what you bought and what you paid. We never see your card details. We use this to deliver your purchase, answer your questions, handle refunds and keep the records the law requires.

Figma plugins are bought through Figma, under Figma’s privacy policy. Our plugins have no network access, so they never send your files or anything inside them to us.

The newsletter

If you sign up for “Letters from the workshop”, we keep your email address to send them. TODO: name the newsletter tool, e.g. Buttondown or Kit, which stores the list for us. Every letter has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them straight away.

Buying something or getting a free download doesn’t sign you up to the newsletter.

Why we’re allowed to use it

  • To give you what you asked for: delivering purchases and free downloads, and replying to you.
  • Because the law requires it: keeping sales records for tax.
  • Because you said yes: the newsletter. You can change your mind at any time.
  • Our legitimate interest: keeping the site secure and understanding, in total, how it’s used.

How long we keep it

Order records: TODO: confirm, e.g. 6 years, to match UK tax record rules. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Emails you send us: as long as needed to help you, then up to 2 years.

Who else sees it

Only the services that help us run the shop: Polar (checkout and delivery), TODO: newsletter tool, TODO: hosting provider and TODO: analytics tool. Some are based outside the UK. Where they are, they use the legal safeguards UK law requires, such as standard contractual clauses. We never sell your data.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop us using it. You can also ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email figmatro@gmail.com and we’ll reply within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
